Dhawan's One-man Show Seals Victory For Delhi Capitals
Shikhar Dhawan's scintillating knock of 101 runs off just 58 deliveries brought a comprehensive victory to the Delhi Capitals. Winning the toss, Chennai Super Kings' captain MS Dhoni decided to bat first, but Sam Curran's early wicket came as a setback against the decision. However, Handy knocks from Faf du Plessis, Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu and a much needed cameo from Ravindra Jadeja put a total of 179 runs on CSK's scoreboard. Delhi too lost wickets at regular intervals but Dhawan remained firm at one end. Interestingly, Dhawan was dropped four times in the game. Delhi needed 17 runs in the final over, and the pressure mounted 20th over was given to Jadeja since Dwayne Bravo was unfit and had returned to the dugout. This opportunity was very well encashed by Axar Patel as he hit three sixes in the over to seal the game for Delhi. After the victory, Delhi topped the points table with 14 points.
