Discus Thrower Kamalpreet Kaur Breaks Record To Qualify For Olympics
Indian discus throw athlete Kamalpreet Kaur qualified for the Tokyo Olympics, besides setting a national record with her off the charts stint on March 19 at the Athletics Federation Cup. Kamalpreet, while breaking Krishna Poonia's nine-year record of 64.76m, made a throw of 65.06 m, and exceeded the Olympics qualification mark valued at 63.5 m. Notably, this is the first time an Indian attained the 65 m rate in the women's discus throw category.
