Eight Indian Beaches To Compete for Blue Flag Certification
Union Environment Ministry has favoured eight beaches around the country to compete for the international eco-label 'Blue Flag' certification. The ministry said that the beaches were selected by a national jury, which included environmentalists and scientists. The Golden Beach (Odisha) and Padubidri (Karnataka), are among the eight. The certification is issued by the ‘Foundation for Environment and Education’, to the beaches which strictly meet environmental safety, cleanliness, and accessibility criteria.
