Delhi To Implement Odd-Even Vehicle Rule To Curb Pollution
The odd-even scheme is back in Delhi to fight the growing air pollution and deteriorating air quality in the capital. The odd-even rule will be applicable from November 13-20 in Delhi. The announcement was made by Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai. "In view of air pollution, the Odd-Even vehicle system will be applicable for one week from November 13th to November 20th," said Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai.

Anti-Open Burning Campaign Extended Till June 13: Delhi Government
The government will prolong its anti-open burning campaign by a month to June 13, as per Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai. This is the second phase of the campaign. During the initial phase, which ran from April 12 to May 12, 500 teams of officers supervised sites in Delhi 24x7. The first phase, saw 5,241 locations investigated, 23 warnings and challans issued, and six people convicted.

Schools To Be Closed till Further Notice Amid Air Pollution: Delhi Govt
Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai on December 2 announced the closure of schools and educational institutions in the National Capital from December 3. The decision was taken in view of the rising air pollution and worsening AQI of Delhi. Reportedly, except for ongoing CBSE exams, all classes would be suspended until further notice. Notably, on November 29, schools reopened after a gap of two weeks in Delhi.

Firecrackers & Stubble Burning Responsible For Heavy Pollution: Delhi Minister
Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai on November 5, said that the sudden increase in using firecrackers and stubble burning are the two major reasons for "heavy" pollution in Delhi. Reportedly, the minister installed an anti-smog gun to improve the air quality in the national capital. According to NASA's pictures, there are almost 3,500 stubble burning incidents taking place in the neighbouring states, he said in a press meet.
