Hong Kong Uses Robots To Help Boost Social Skills For Autistic Children
To enhance and impart social skills among autistic children, a Hong Kong-based professor is using role-playing robots through an education programme 'Robot for Autism Behavioral Intervention' (RABI). The programme, using two robots, depicts appropriate and inappropriate behaviour. Reportedly, 1200 children have accessed it since its inception in 2015. Besides engaging through verbal interaction, the robots help reducing anxiety problems, said Chinese University of Hong Kong Professor Catherine So.
