JMM Patriarch Shibu Soren Releases Bilingual Autobiographical Works
On the 77th birthday of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) supremo Shibu Soren, three of his autobiographical works have been released in Ranchi on January 11. The books titled 'Dishom Guru: Shibu Soren' and 'Tribal Hero: Shibu Soren' were co-authored by journalist Anuj Kumar Sinha, and are available in Hindi and English respectively. Interestingly, Soren's third book - 'Suno Bachhon, Adivasi Sangharsh Ke Nayak Shibu Soren (Guruji) Ki Gatha' - is dedicated to children with rare pictures and illustrations of the JMM patriarch's life. Aiming to enlighten people about Shibu Soren, the books include accounts of Soren's struggle throughout his political and personal life. The book has also mentioned how Soren formed JMM alongside A.K. Roy and Binod Bihari Mahto and demanded the separation of Jharkhand for the tribals. Besides, the books recall Soren's famous 'Dhaan Kato' movement against the 'Mahajan' system for uniting the state's tribals. Moreover, the editions have shed light on Soren's struggle in his teenage years after his father Sobran Manjhi's murder.
