Kerala Film Chamber Stops Resuming Theatres, Demands For Relief Package
Demanding a relief package form the state government, the Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce on January 6 decided to not to resume film screening. The development occurred even after the Kerala government permitted theaters to operate at 50% occupancy. The theater owners have appealed to waive off fixed electricity charges and allow full exemption on entertainment tax. They hope to reopen before January 13 to screen Vijay's movie ‘Master’ that may bring a large footfall.
