New Algorithm InfoShield To Catch Human Trafficking Ads, Their Victims
Carnegie Mellon University and McGill University have developed an algorithm, 'InfoShield', to help law enforcement agencies to catch human traffickers by identifying escort ads and their victims. Notably, InfoShield recorded 84% accuracy rate during the trial phase. The algorithm, while scanning, catches those ads with similar phrasings by highlighting the common parts. The advertisements having high commonality are potent to be suspicious, said study's co-author Christos Faloutsos.
