Odisha HC Institutes 3-member Committee To Probe Turtle Deaths

The Odisha High Court on February 27 instituted a three-member committee resuming inquiry into rising mortality rates of the Olive Ridley turtles. Acknowledging media reports as PIL, the Odisha High Court had recently issued notices to the state government, demanding adequate measures towards conserving the endangered turtles. Reletadely, the committee would consult with stakeholders and verify their compliance with HC's directions. The HC has summoned for an evaluation report by March 10.
