SC Condemns 2019 Hyderabad Encounter, Says 10 Policemen 'Should Be Tried For Murder'

In 2019, four accused in the gang-rape and murder case of a veterinary doctor was killed in a police encounter in Hyderabad. The Apex Court on May 20, stated that the encounter was initiated "deliberately" to cause death to the suspects. Furthermore, the Supreme Court also stated that a murder trial should be initiated against the 10 policemen involved. Reportedly, three of the four accused were minors.
