After two unsuccessful visits of WHO officials to China, WHO is set to relaunch probe into investigation of the origin of the pandemic. The new team of 20 members ranges experts from scientists, specialists, animal disease experts to geneticists. In absence of a concrete response from China, the new team is likely to face stiff resistance from Chinese authorities. However, after over two years, collecting raw data remains a challenge.

The Supreme court of India will investigate the trading practices of Amazon and Walmart's Flipkart on the grounds of anti-competitive behavior allegations. Reportedly, the two tech giants bypassed Indian laws and using various tactics to hamper small businesses. Union Commerce Minister Piyush Gopal welcomed the SC's decision invoking the "Quit India Movement". An official report regarding the allegations is yet to be disclosed.
Delhi police moved High Court to challenge the order of the Trial Court which imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 and called the investigation in the Delhi riots case "farcical" and "most callous". The Trial Court was hearing the revision petition of SHO, PS Bhajanpura who had challenged the order of the Metropolitan Magistrate to register a separate FIR on Mohammad Nasir. Nasir had received gunshot injuries during the riots.

NIA has told the Bombay HC that the plea filed by two Elgar accused challenging the transfer of the probe is an attempt to "thwart" the investigation. In an affidavit, the agency stated that the "Naxal Plague has destroyed at many levels". It further said, the Centre suo motu directed the NIA to handle the case, given the gravity of the scheduled offense that reflects “national security”.

Two pedestrians died in a firing reported in North Delhi’s Bara Hindu Rao area on July 8 at 9:21 pm. The man who was supposedly the main target absconded, however, two pedestrians were caught in the loop and were shot dead. An investigation is underway. Meanwhile, the reason behind the firing and the names of the attackers are still unknown.
The Delhi Police have been granted additional two months to carry out investigation against Al-Qaeda militant Sabeel Ahmed.
