West Bengal Governor Writes to President of WBVCC for his 'Oblivious' Behaviour
On August 17, the Governor of West Bengal, Jagdeep Dhankar wrote a letter and addressed it to the president of West Bengal Vice-Chancellors' Council (WBVCC), Professor Suranjan Das. The letter alleged the members of WBVCC for being disinterested in engaging in a dialogue with the Governor. Jagdeep Dhankar also mentioned that the language used in the issue pertaining the Vice-Chancellor of Cooch Behar Panchaman Barma University holds no discipline. He stated that the accusations made against him on the orders imparted were totally 'uncalled' for.
The Governor claimed that WBVCC is functioning with a smear tactic to work against him. "Vice-Chancellors are expected to be role models in society by exhibiting exemplary conduct. This has been severely compromised," wrote the Governor.
He has also asked for a proper interaction to resolve the issues. In the last few days, there has been a continuous scuffle between the Governor and the Vice-Chancellors of the state, with several allegations from both the sides.
