Haryana Witnessed 750+ Cases, 50 Deaths Due To Black Fungus: CM Khattar
Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar on May 30 revealed that 750 mucormycosis patients have been identified in the state with 50 deaths, 50 recoveries and 650 patients undergoing treatment. India Procures 2 Lakh Doses Of Black Fungus Drug 'Amphotericin B'
The central government has successfully procured two lakh doses of AmBisome (Amphotericin B injection) used to cure deadly Mucormycosis (black fungus.) Reportedly, PM Narendra Modi had asked officials to procure the important drug "from anywhere" in the world, and these doses have been acquired "with help of Gilead Sciences in the USA". With the sudden rise in black fungus cases, the demand for the drug has skyrocketed.
