1 Held For Possession Of 1 Kg Pangolin Scale In Guwahati: Assam
In Assam's Guwahati, Assam Forest Department has arrested a man with one kilogram of Pangolin scale, on March 17. The Guwahati police and the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau, Assam Forest Department in a joint operation arrested the accused and seized one kilogram of Pangolin from Guwahati, Assam. A case has been registered under the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972. Further details are awaited.

Assam: Goods Train Engine Seized For Killing Two Elephants
For killing a female elephant and her calf on the tracks between Patharkhula-Lamsakhang railway stations, a goods train's engine has been confiscated in Assam. Besides, both the loco pilot and assistant loco pilot of the engine have been suspended in this regard. Reportedly, when the incident happened, the train was running at the speed of 60 kmph, which was well above the permissible limit of 30 kmph.
