Atul Rane, CEO and MD, BrahMos Aerospace, said that India will give get its first hypersonic missile in five to six years. Hypersonic weapons are missiles and projectiles that travel five to 25 times faster than the speed of sound, or about one to five miles per second. BrahMos Aerospace is a joint venture partnered by India and Russia. BrahMos is expected to emerge as a global top-notch military manufacturer.
