Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker and her husband Fahad Ahmad have been blessed with their first child, a baby girl. Swara gave birth to the baby on September 23. The couple shared the happy news with their fans and followers via an official statement, on September 25. The couple has named their daughter Raabiya, after the Sufi mystic Rabia Basri. The name also means spring and/or queen.

Ed Sheeran and his wife Cherry Seaborn have had their second child, a beautiful baby girl. On May 19, he posted a photo of a pair of socks on a blanket on his Instagram, captioning it, "We are both so in love with her, and over the moon to be a family of 4x." Before embarking on his next tour, the artist will spend some time with his newborn daughter. 

Gullu Chaudhary, a boatman rescued a 21-day-old baby girl wrapped in a red cloth floating in the Ganga river in a wooden box decorated with Hindu gods' pictures. The incident that occurred in northern Uttar Pradesh seems like a case of intentional abandonment which is a common practice for baby girls. However, the baby is being monitored in the hospital and will be sent to a shelter home later. 

Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma and Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli get showered with congratulations from all ends for becoming parents to their firstborn. Anushka gave birth to a baby girl on January 11 at Mumbai's Breach Candy hospital. Sharing the good news on Twitter, Kohli thanked everyone for their love, prayers, and good wishes. He further added, "we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives."

A one-year old baby was returned back to her mother after she was allegedly sold by her father to a relative in just three days after her birth in Valasapalli village of Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh. Rajani, the mother, filed a complaint against her husband, Naveen Babu. However, the foster parents stated that they did not buy the baby for cash, and that adopted her. Further investigation on the matter is underway.
