SC Grants Bail To 8 Convicted In Godhra Train Carnage Case
The Supreme Court has granted bail to eight convicts in the Godhra train carnage case, having regard to their period of imprisonment undergone and their role in the crime. In the court hearing, the Apex Court however, refused to consider the bail applications of four other convicts in view of their role. The judgement came after a special court acquitted 67 in the Godhra train carnage case.

Court Grants Bail To Social Media Influencer Sapna Gill In Prithvi Shaw Selfie Row
A court in Delhi granted bail to social media influencer Sapna Gill and three other accused in the Cricketer Prithvi Shaw selfie row. The three were accused of pertaining to alleged manhandling of India cricketer Prithvi Shaw and attacking his car with a baseball bat in Mumbai last week. Earlier in the day, the court Shobhit Thakur, Rudra Solanki and Sahil Singh to 14-day judicial custody, but later got bail.

Delhi HC Grants Bail To Ex NSE Chairman Chitra Ramakrishna
The Delhi High Court (HC) granted bail to Ex NSE Chairman Chitra Ramakrishna in illegal phone tapping and money laundering case. On February 8, the Delhi HC Justice Jasmeet Singh said, "The application is allowed. The applicant is granted bail." Chitra Ramakrishna was arrested by CBI in the money laundering case by the ED, which opposed her bail saying, she is a 'mastermind'. The matter is still under investigation.

Man Who Threatened Ambani, Family Gets Bail By Session Court
A sessions court in Mumbai has granted bail to Bishnu Bhowmik (56,) arrested for calling up the landline number of Reliance Hospital in Mumbai and threatening to kill industrialist Mukesh Ambani and his family. On September 19, the Additional sessions judge AA Kulkarni granted bail to Bhowmik against a personal bond of Rs 15,000. Furthermore, the bail was in view of medical grounds, confirming Bhowmik was suffering from bipolar-disorder.

Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani Sent To 6 Months In Jail In 2016 Case
In Ahmedabad Metro Police court in Gujarat sentences Gujarat’s working president and MLA Jignesh Mevani and 18 others to six months of imprisonment in a 2016 case. The case pertains to a protest held in 2016, regarding change of name of a law building of Gujarat University. Mevani was reportedly lodged over his tweets against PM Modi. Currently, Mevani is out on bail.

Activist Setalvad Gets Bail In 2002 Gujarat Riots Case: SC
Activist Teesta Setalvad was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court in connection with the 2002 Gujarat riots case, on September 2. Teesta Setalvad is accused of drafting false statements of witnesses and submitting them before the Nanavati commission set up to investigate the riots. Notably, Teesta Setalvad had filed an appeal in the Apex Court challenging the orders of the session court, denying bail.

SC Issues Bail To Varavara Rao In Bhima Koregaon Case For Medical Concerns
Varavara Rao, Telugu poet and activist who is charged in the Elgar Parishad case, has been given six-month medical bail by Supreme Court. The 82-year-old petitioner was under home arrest since 2018. Bombay High Court noticed that the petitioner had health problems. “The appellant shall not misuse his liberty and not get in touch with any of the co-accused or try to influence the course of the investigation,” SC stated.
