The Delhi Government has permitted schools to reopen classes for grade 10-12 from January 18. The State government has issued guidelines on how to conduct the practical and pre-board examinations. Maharashtra Educational Minister Varsha Gaikwad reported on November 6 that the state board exams of grade 10 and 12 will not be held before May 2021. She stated that at least 25% of the syllabus should be cut to enable the teachers to complete the course on time. Noting that the present situation of coronavirus would not be over any time soon, exams will be only conducted after completion of syllabus.

On September 4, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) stated that those students seeking improvement in class 12 exam marks, can opt for the optional examination scheduled from September 22 to 29. The exams will be conducted along with the compartment exams for classes 10 and 12. Reportedly, the examinees have been instructed to wear masks and carry hand sanitizers to contain the spread of Coronavirus.
