BJP workers staged a protest in J&K's Srinagar condemning the killing of Kashmiri pandit government employee Rahul Bhat. The protesters raised slogans with placards that read, "stop innocent killings". The Protestors then stated that "those protest is not only about Rahul Bhat, but all the innocent killings that took place in J&K". Rahul Bhai, an employee of Tehsil office in J&K's Budgam, was shot dead by terrorists.

The Jammu & Kashmir security forces arrested a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant in Budgam area on January 20.  During a search operation launched in Chadoora, the forces caught militant and ecovered arms and ammunition from his possession. Kashmir Police registered cognizance case and started investigation of a mysterious death, on January 2. A 45-year-old carpenter identified as Rameez Ahmad Beigh was found dead in Budgam under mysterious circumstances, in an under construction building in Humhama area. He was rushed to SMHS hospital by his colleagues, where doctors declared him brought dead. 

The Jammu and Kashmir security forces killed one unidentified terrorist in an encounter at Chrar-i-Sharief area of Budgam, on September 22. Reportedly, the terrorists and the security forces were engaged in a gun fight since September 21 evening, which continued for over 12 hours. The Kashmir Police had informed about the encounter through Twitter. However, further details on the matter are awaited.
