Dalit Man Assaulted, Forced To Lick Feet In Uttar Pradesh; Video Goes Viral

In Uttar Pradesh's Rae Bareli, another incident of caste-based violence went viral on social media platforms. In the video, a minor Dalit boy was being assaulted and forced to lick the feet of the accused. In the two-minute-thirty-second video, the accused on a motorbike was asking the victim to say "Thakur" and said, "Will you make such a mistake again?" The police registered a case and booked the accused.

ED Questions Congress Leader Malliakarjun Kharge In Money Laundering Case

Senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge is being questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on April 11. The leader who has been alleged in connection with the National Herald case money laundering probe was issued summon notice to appear before the ED.  The 79-year-old Rajya Sabha Congress member would give a statement, which will be recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

Police Arrest 5 Persons In Robbery Case: Delhi

Police on January 13, claimed to have arrested five people, including two employees of mobile accessories firm in Delhi, on charges of robbing over Rs 17 lakh belonging to the firm. Police said that the accused were interrogated, before they confessed. Reportedly, Rs 16.80 lakh of money, mobile phones, autorickshaw and a two wheeler were recovered during raids. Notably, one of the accused had filed a compliant about the robbery.

Kashmir Valley Reports 1st Case Of Omicron: COVID-19

First case of COVID-19's new variant Omicron was confirmed in Kashmir Valley, on January 11. A pregnant woman from Uri Baramulla tested Omicron positive. Her sample was taken on December 20, 2021 at SDH Uri for genome sequencing as she was COVID-19 postive. "She is stable, and doctors have been rushed to the woman's home and samples of her family members and neighbors will be done," said official.

Forest Personnel Arrest 3 Persons For Possession Of Tiger Teeth And Nails: MP

Forest personnel arrested three persons for possession of tiger teeth and nails. Reportedly, two canine teeth and 13 nails of a tiger were seized from their possession in MP's Umaria district. Officials said that the forest officials intercepted a motorcycle of said persons, and found the canine teeth and nails, following which a case was registered. Further investigation on the matter is underway.
