Erratic Forest Fires Hit Uttarakhand; Severe Heat, Negligible Rainfall To Blame
Uttarakhand has observed erratic forest fires in Almora and Chakrata areas. Reportedly, more than 10 hectares of forest land at both the places has been ravaged due to the severe heat and negligible rainfall. However, no loss of human life or wildlife has been reported. Chakrata's Divisional Forest Officer Deep Chand Arya stated, "Thanks to the dry grass floor, even the smallest spark could ignite a raging fire."
