Fire Flares Out In The Margana Forest Region Of Udhampur, J&K
A fire started out in Chenani's Margana forest region, in the Udhampur district of Jammu & Kashmir late at night on May 19. Authorities from the forest department, the fire department, and the emergency personnel worked together to put out the fire. Additional information is forthcoming. On May 17, a major fire burst out in Jammu and Kashmir's Niaka, Panjgrain, and Ghambir Mughlan forest regions.

Centre Deploys NDRF, Helicopters To Douse Uttarakhand Wildfires
The Centre has deployed NDRF teams and helicopters to control the Uttarakhand wildfires, which have spread to 45 clusters spanning over 68 acres area. Uttarakhand: Over 4000 Hectares Of Forest Area Destroyed, 765 Wildfires
In the span of six months, the Uttarakhand Forest Department has lost over 4000 hectares of forest eco-system in 765 wildfires across the state. While the loss recorded in the reserved forests areas (642.11 hectares), and areas under civil soyam and Van panchayat the loss caters to 3,546 hectares. However, the government inducted 10,000 firefighters including 5,000 women to tackle the outbreak of fire, also promoting women empowerment.

Fire Breaks Out In Odisha's Simlipal Forest; Five Teams Deployed
The Odisha government on March 5 deployed five teams from the Jashipur Fire Station after destructive fires embroil the Simlipal Forest of the Mayurbhanj district. Reportedly, ten locations in the four ranges of the forest have been severely affected. While 25 fire department personnel equipped with five special vehicles have already been trying to douse the flames, ten more personnel will join them with three additional vehicles.

Erratic Forest Fires Hit Uttarakhand; Severe Heat, Negligible Rainfall To Blame
Uttarakhand has observed erratic forest fires in Almora and Chakrata areas. Reportedly, more than 10 hectares of forest land at both the places has been ravaged due to the severe heat and negligible rainfall. However, no loss of human life or wildlife has been reported. Chakrata's Divisional Forest Officer Deep Chand Arya stated, "Thanks to the dry grass floor, even the smallest spark could ignite a raging fire."
