Telangana Govt Raises ST Reservations By 4% Educational Institutions & Govt Services

The state government of Telangana has increased the reservation for Scheduled Tribe (ST) community by 4% in all educational institutions and government services. The new quota has come into immediate effect. The ST reservations in the state now stands at 10%, compared to the previous 6%. Reportedly, the move has been taken keeping in mind the 10% ST population in the state.

Reactor Blast Leaves 7 Injured In Telangana’s Nalgonda; 1 In Critical Condition

In Telangana’s Nalgonda district, a reactor blast occurred in a company, causing injuries to at least seven persons, on August 24. The injured persons are currently undergoing treatment, while one person’s condition is critical. The cause of blast is yet to be determined. A case on the incident is yet to be registered. Further details on the matter is awaited as the investigation is underway.

TPCC Chief Revanth Reddy Put Under House Arrest: Telangana

TPCC president Revanth Reddy, has been put under house arrest, on December 31. Reddy was scheduled to visit farmers in Sayampalem village, Bhupalpally district. However, the State Police suspected him to be planning a protest, due to which he has been put under house arrest with additional security. Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy criticised the Telangana Government and CM K Chandrashekar Rao, calling it breach of human rights.
