IAF Officer Sexually Assaults Another Officer In Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu

In Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore, 26-year-old Indian Air Force officer has been jailed for sexually assaulting a 27-year-old female officer, on September 26. Over 200 Cases Per Day Reported In Chennai, Coimbatore

Over 17 districts in Tamil Nadu are witnessing a surge in Covid-19 cases in the week before. Chennai and Coimbatore have recorded over 200 cases per day in the last few days. "The recent surge in cases was due to clusters like religious gatherings and gated neighborhood.  Any gathering of more than 20 people is cause for concern," said the state's health secretary, Dr. J Radhakrishnan.

43-Year-Old Man Rapes, Impregnates Minor Niece; Arrested

Tamil Nadu police have arrested a 43-year-old man on July 10 for allegedly raping and impregnating his minor niece in Coimbatore. On experiencing abdominal pain, the 12-year-old victim was taken to the hospital where medical examination showed her to be eight months pregnant. A complaint was filed by the minor's parents under IPC Sections 376 (3) and 560 (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses).

TN: Devotees Build 'Corona Devi' Temple For Protection Against COVID

Devotees of Kamatchipuri Adheenam in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore have built a Corona Devi temple to seek protection against the deadly COVID-19. The worshippers also erected a 1.5-foot tall black stone statue where prayers will be offered for 48 days to get rid of the virus, and the pooja will conclude with a Mahayagam. Interestingly, a similar temple named "Plague Mariamman Temple" was constructed 150 years ago against the plague.

Tamil Nadu: Male Elephant Dies Of Electric Shock In Coimabatore

A male elephant died of electrocution on the outskirts of Coimbatore when it accidentally came into contact with an electric fence in a paddy field. On the information from Semmedu village locals, the Boluvampatti forest range officials discovered the high voltage electric fence was connected illegally. Filing a case under the Wild Life Offence Report against Durai alias Aruchamy, the authorities are in search of the absconding accused.
