In Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore, 26-year-old Indian Air Force officer has been jailed for sexually assaulting a 27-year-old female officer, on September 26. Tamil Nadu police have arrested a 43-year-old man on July 10 for allegedly raping and impregnating his minor niece in Coimbatore. On experiencing abdominal pain, the 12-year-old victim was taken to the hospital where medical examination showed her to be eight months pregnant. A complaint was filed by the minor's parents under IPC Sections 376 (3) and 560 (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses).
