In a shocking incident, a seven-year-old boy has been accused of sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl from his neighbourhood in Kanpur Dehat district. The incident happened in a village under the limits of Akbarpur police station of the district late on Sunday night, came to light after police lodged FIR under sections 376 of IPC and section 5/6 of the POCSO Act on the complaint of the girl’s mother.
In a shocking incident, a man is booked for allegedly raping his pregnant daughter-in-law in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar. The woman was pregnant when the incident occurred. The husband refused to keep the woman with him after he came to know about the incident. He claimed that after being raped by his father the woman has now become his mother. The victim has registered a case and an investigation is underway.
In a shocking incident, a 68-year-old allegedly raped a minor, student of class 5 in West Bengal's Darjeeling. According to sources, the accused raped the victim for one month repeatedly and threatened her to death, if she speaks about it to anybody. He even used to give her Rs 10 for every time he raped the girl. A case has been registered under POCSO Act and an investigation is underway.
A 14-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by two minors from her school when she was returning home after attending classes in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut district. The two accused, class IX and X student took the victim to a sugarcane field forcefully and committed the crime. The police has formed teams and is searching the absconding accused. Furthermore, a case has been registered and investigation is underway.
In a horrific inicdent, a 12-year-old girl was raped, bitten multiple times and brutalised allegedly by two men working for the trust managing a famous temple. The incident was reported in Maihar town of Satna district in Madhya Pradesh, confirmed police on July 28. The two men, who have been arrested, also allegedly inserted a hard object in her private parts. A case has been registered for further investigation.

In Gurugram, a Bhojpuri actress was allegedly raped by an Instagram friend. On July 21, the actress registered a case against the accused, who called the victim at a hotel room under the pretext of an interview. "Mahesh had already booked a room with a fake ID named Subhash." She said, he asked some questions and then started drinking, when I asked him to leave, he raped her.

In Delhi's Prashant Vihar, a 20-year-old college student was allegedly raped by a man, who the city police have arrested on July 13. The accused identified as Ravi Solanki, posed as a cop and threatened the victim to post her intimate video with her boyfriend online. He raped her and fled the apartment. When the victim confined to her boyfriend, the couple registered a case, leading to an investigation.
In a shocking incident, a French man Dominique P allegedly drugged his wife, and recorded videos of 51 men raping her wife. This practice of drugging and then arranging men for sexual assault continued for over ten years, reported a local source on June 22. The police have booked Dominique P and others under relevant sections. Of 93 rape accused, 51 have been arrested and the search for others is underway.
An 18-year-old girl was raped and strangulated to death in her hostel room, in Mumbai, Maharashtra. According to the police, the accused was identified as Prakash Kanojia, a security guard of the hostel and has committed suicide. Notably, after committing the rape and murder of the victim, a second-year polytechnic student, Prakash allegedly ended his life, and his body was found at railway tracks. A case is registered for investigation.

In a drawback to the former MLA Julius Dorphang, the Meghalaya High Court dismissed his petition seeking to overturn the decision of lower court. Notably, Dorphang was sentenced to 25 years in prison for raping a young girl. The High Court panel hearing the case presided over by Chief Justice Sanjib Banerjee, also ordered the state government to pay the victim a compensation of Rs 20 lakh within three-months.
