The Congress took strong objections to BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri's remarks in the Lok Sabha and demanded his suspension from the House. Terming the remarks as an insult to all MPs, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said the apology offered by Union Minister Rajnath Singh was a mere eyewash and not sufficient. Strict action should be taken against him, he demanded on September 22.

Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday once again surprised people by visiting a Railway station here and interacting with the porters to know their concerns. Gandhi arrived at Anand Vihar Railway station to talk to the coolies and discussed the issues they face, the source said. Sonia Gandhi To Open Debate Over Women's Reservation Bill In Lok Sabha
Sonia Gandhi, the former President of the Indian National Congress (INC) will open the debate in the Lok Sabha session and will discuss the Women's Reservation Bill. Notably, the Congress is raising claims that tabled by Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal and the BJP Government, the idea was of Congress. The bill which is yet to be approved and pass will provide 33% reservation to women in politics.

The Congress' parliamentary party chief Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday said the women's reservation bill "is ours", amid speculation that the bill may be tabled in Parliament. The Congress on Monday said it welcomed the reported move as the party has been raising the demand for long. Asked about the bill when she was entering Parliament on Tuesday, Mrs Gandhi said, "It is ours, apna hai."

Congress Writes To US DOJ Over Criminal Summon In 1984 Bhopal Gas Tragedy
Twelve US members of Congress have written to the US Department of Justice (DOJ), urging to issue criminal summons to Dow Chemical Company in connection with the 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy. The letter signed by Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib and Pramila Jayapal, and Congressman Frank Pallone Jr, asked that the Dow Chemical Company — the key accused in the tragedy — respond to India’s repeated summons to appear in court.

FIR Registered Against Udhayanidhi Stalin & Congress President's Son
An FIR was registered here against DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge's son Priyank Kharge for allegedly outraging religious feelings, police said on September 6.
