According to statistics published on June 12 by the Union Health Ministry, India has recorded 8,582 new coronavirus infections, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 4,32,22,017, with 44,513 active cases. With four deaths, the death toll reached 5,24,761. The active COVID-19 caseload increased by 4,143 cases in only 24 hours. Three of the four new deaths occurred in Kerala, while one occurred in Maharashtra.

India reported 2,124 fresh cases of COVID-19 and 77 fatalities in the last 24 hours, on May 25. A recovery rate of 98.75% was recorded, taking the active caseload to 14,971 in the country. India's daily positivity rate stands at 0.46% and weekly positivity rate at 0.49%. Furthermore, over 192.67 crore cumulative doses of COVID vaccine has been administered so far.
