A special POCSO court judge Subhash Kumar Bihari was found hanging at his official residence in Odisha’s Cuttack, on September 2. A preliminary investigation revealed that he had applied for two days of leave on , and another leave on August 31, and another leave on September 2. Reportedly, a case of suicide has been registered, and an investigation is underway to determine the exact reason for his death.
In Odisha's Cuttack, a woman was seriously injured after some unidentified miscreants allegedly hurled acid on her, confirmed police on July 13. The victim allegedly took loans from several lenders, and when she failed to repay the loans, the accused allegedly hurled acid at her. The police registered a case and launched an investigation. Meanwhile, the woman who received severe burn injuries is being treated at a state-run hospital.

As many as two persons were killed due to the collapse of the Old Chhatra Bazar Bridge in Cuttack. Expressing grief to the bereaved family, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik announced an ex-gratia of Rs 3 lakh. Meanwhile, CM has directed the authority provide proper medical facilities to the injured and wished them a speedy recovery. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on December 21, inaugurated bridge over Mahanadi River at Gopinathpur in Cuttack. The 'T' shaped 3.4 km, the longest bridge of Odisha has been built at a cost of Rs 111 crores, connecting Shrighnath Temple. It will reduce the distance between Badamba and Baideshwar, Banki by 45 km, benefiting over 5 lakh people, developing tourism, agriculture in the region, reported officials.
