Naked Wire Kills Laborer; Uttarakhand Power Corporation MD Charged
The managing director of Uttarakhand Power Corporation Ltd. (UPCL) has been charged under IPC Section 304A causing death via ignorance on September 27. Balam, a daily wage laborer was electrocuted after unknowingly touching a low-hanging live wire on July 15, 2020 in Dehradun. His wife asserted that her husband died due to authorities' failure to fix dangling wires in the market.

Uttarakhand Caps 50% Occupancy In Hotels Over Tourists Rush
Owing to an increased influx of tourists in Uttarakhand, the CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has issued an order to allow 50% occupancy at hotels in Nainital and Dehradun. “Challans are being issued to those who aren’t wearing masks,” he stated. Sub-Inspector Rapes Minor Girl inside Washroom of Govt Quarters
Sanjiv Jagudi, an assistant sub-inspector from Uttarakhand's Dehradun was arrested for raping an 11-year-old girl inside the washroom of a government quarters. According to the mother who filed the complaint, the minor went inside the washroom and did not return for a long time. When she went to check on her daughter, she realised that the door was locked from inside, which was then opened by the accused who later fled the scene.
