International passengers arriving in Kerala needs to follow a set of new guidelines, issued by the Kerala Health Department. NRIs and international travelers arriving in Kerala with COVID-19 symptoms, will be required to undertake an RT-PCR test. The airline officers will select the passengers. Cost of RT-PCR test for COVID-19 has been reduced to Rs. 1,975 in Mumbai. The price control committee of the Maharashtra Health Department emphasised reducing the cost which was Rs 3,900 per test earlier. However, after repeated nudging of the State Government and Chief Secretary Pradeep Vyas, the MIAL reduced the price. The new price will be in effect immediately, especially when the global Omicron threat is increasing in Mumbai.

The houses and offices of top executives of five diagnostics firms were raided by the Enforcement Directorate on August 6 after the Uttarakhand Police filed a case over money laundering. During Kumbh Mela, the Uttarakhand government had given contracts to these firms for rapid antigen and RT-PCR testing. However, along with less than the required number of testing, the labs recorded fake entries and bogus bills.
