Deputy leader of the House

Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has been appointed as the Deputy Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha on July 19, succeeding Piyush Goyal who is now the Leader of the House. Reportedly, he is considered as a trusted man of the BJP government and also the only Muslim representative in the Rajya Sabha. With very little BJP representation i the house, Naqvi is tasked with handling crucial political challenges.
