Gujarat Police Arrests Former DGP In 2002 Gujarat Riot, After SC Approves All-Clear To PM Modi
The Gujarat Police arrested former State DGP RB Sreekumar and took social activist Teesta Setalvad in custody for allegedly conspiring to falsely implicate innocent persons in Gujarat 2002 Riot. Besides, Setalvad and Sreekumar, the FIR also named IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt, who is already in jail. The development came a day after the Supreme Court supported the decision of the SIT, which gave all-clear to PM Narendra Modi in 2002-riot.
