Train Derailed In Mathura, Traffic Halted: Uttar Pardesh

The rail traffic between Mathura & Delhi was halted following the derailment of Ghaziabad-bound cargo train, sources said on January 22. The incident took place on January 21 at about 11:30 pm, when several coaches of the train derailed, due to which both up and down routes and the third line were affected. The coaches were loaded with cement, and hundreds of men have been deployed to remove the coaches.

Indian Railways Crosses Pre-COVID Freight Loading Figures

Piyush Goyal: Freight Trains are Running Twice the Speed of What They Used To

Union Minister Piyush Goyal in his CII Webinar on August 8, stated that the Indian Railways have been running the freight trains at double the speed in last 11 days. From 26 km/hr, the trains are now running at 46 km/hr. He stated that instead of the industries pleading the Railways to be given priority, for the first time in the history, the Railways are approaching the industries for more freight.
