President Kovind Remembers Soldiers Who Died To Free Goa From Portuguese

President Ram Nath Kovind remembered the soldiers who lost their lives to liberate Goa from 450 years of Portuguese rule in 1961 on the occasion of Goa Liberation Day, on December 19. "We also salute the exemplary courage and valour of our armed forces," tweeted Kovind. Meanwhile, PM Modi is set to visit Goa to attend Goa Liberation Day celebrations at the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium.

PM Modi To Visit Goa On December 19 To Celebrate 'Goa Liberation Day'

PM Narendra Modi is going to visit Goa, on December 19, to attend Goa Liberation Day. During the visit, PM Modi will felicitate freedom fighters, launch development projects, hospitals and renovated fort in Goa.  The Goa Liberation Day, celebrated on December 19, marks the victory of "Operation Vijay," to free Goa from Portuguese. The event will be celebrated around 3:00 PM, at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium in Taleigao, Goa.
