Google Maps Suffers Server Crash; Outage Witnessed In Major Countries

Following the server crash of Google maps on March 18, several people faced problems, especially the ones set out for weekend travel. People all around the world shared their experiences and concerns over the incident, via Twitter. The outage was seen throughout Canada, US and also India. Although Google did not elaborate on the problem caused, a spokesperson told Mashable that the technical issue is now fixed.

Google Asks Android Users To 'Donate' SMS Messages

Google is seeking permission from some Android users to access their SMS messages, reported AndroidPolice. Google is asking users to "donate" their SMS messages as part of a testing process for their "Categories feature" in the app, as per sources. A prompt read, "Help your app sort better with message donations to Google". Reportedly, users can select the messages they wish to share.

Google Play Pass Available For Android Users In India; Details Here

Google Play Pass, a subscription service which allows streaming games and apps ad-free is now available on Google Play Store, for android users in India. The Play Pass worth Rs 99 per month, Rs 899 per year comes with a list of collective apps and games with over 41 categories, by developers from 59 countries. Furthermore, Google Play Pass provides family membership (five members) to share the pass.

Google Partners With Microsoft To Offer Games On Windows 10, 11

Google has planned to offer Android games of the Google Play store on Windows 10 and 11 from 2022. The announcement reportedly came during this year's Game Awards. Amazon also partnered with Microsoft to list its own app on Windows 11's Microsoft Store, reported ANI. The spokesperson didn't share much detail but he said that the games will be available through Google apps developed on Microsoft 10 and 11.

Google Delays Mandatory Office Return For Employees: Omicron Scare

Google employees will not return to office on January 10 as scheduled, said Company's VP Chris Rackow. On December 2, Rackow sent an email to the employees, asking them to work from home until the US offices return to a "stable, long term working environment."
