Governor's Cup

In the Governor's Cup played in Russia, Indian Boxer Amit Panghal settled with a bronze medal after suffering a defeat in the semi-finals. Playing under 52 kg category, the 23-year-old boxer from Haryana lost to Uzbek’s Shakhobidin Zoirov by 5-0. Earlier shortlisted for Tokyo Olympics, Amit will represent India in the Tokyo Olympics in July-August 2021. Notably, Panghal is the only Indian to secure a medal at tournament.
