IMD Issues Cold Wave Alert For Maharashtra
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued cold wave alert for Maharashtra, till January 27. Notably, the state witnessed second coldest morning below 16° Celsius. Furthermore, in Madhya Maharashtra, Nasik witnessed the lowest temperature of 6.3° Celsius. The fall in temperature is expected till Thursday, January 27. Notably, on January 10, Maharashtra reported its first coldest morning, which was below 10° Celsius.

Delhi AQI At 369, Slips To 'Very Poor' Category: CPCB
Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) once again slipped to "very poor category," on December 21. The Central Pollution Control Board confirmed the AQI at 369, from the previous 319. In addition, the IMD also issued alert and said the situation will be worsening in the coming days. "The air quality is likely to deteriorate and remain in upper end of Very Poor category but improve after December 26," said IMD.

Kashmir Witnesses Extreme Cold Wave; Srinagar Records -2.4 Degrees Celsius
Kashmir witnessed an extreme cold wave as the minimum temperature hit below the freezing point. Srinagar recorded minus 2.4 degrees Celsius, while Pahalgam recorded minus 4.1 degrees Celsius on December 3. Furthermore, Gulmarg's temperature was minus 1 degrees Celsius, where as the mercury in Kupwara recorded minus 2.8 degrees Celsius. The officials stated that a weak Western Disturbance is likely to hit Kashmir towards the weekend.

IMD Advises To Avoid Alcohol As "Severe" Cold Expected In North India
