Delhi-Rohtak Railway Line Blocked After Goods Train Derailed
On the Delhi-Rohtak railway track line, eight bogies were derailed on August 7. Following the incident, the concerned authority blocked the railway track at the Kharawar rail line, in Rohtak, Haryana. The goods train was headed from Shakur Basti in Delhi to Suratgarh via Rohtak. It was laden with coal. Furthermore, police reached the spot and launched an investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident.

Train Derailed In Mathura, Traffic Halted: Uttar Pardesh
The rail traffic between Mathura & Delhi was halted following the derailment of Ghaziabad-bound cargo train, sources said on January 22. The incident took place on January 21 at about 11:30 pm, when several coaches of the train derailed, due to which both up and down routes and the third line were affected. The coaches were loaded with cement, and hundreds of men have been deployed to remove the coaches.

21 Delhi-Bound Trains Delayed Amid Fog & Poor Visibility
Amid dense fog and poor visibility in the national capital on January 21, several Delhi-bound trains were delayed, as confirmed by the Northern Railway. As per the official report, 21 Delhi-bound trains are running late, due to fog in the morning. Pertinently, 13 Delhi-bound trains ran late on January 20, following low visibility. Meanwhile, the minimum temperature in the city was recorded at 10°C in the morning.

Record Breaking Event! Indian President To Board Train Journey In 15 Years
After APJ Abdul Kalam, Ram Nath Kovind will be the first incumbent President to undertake a train journey in 15-years. Reportedly, the president will board train on June 25, from Delhi's Safdarjung station to visit his birthplace (Paraunkh) in UP's Kanpur. However, the President has plans to meet his old friends from school and social service. Moreover, he will return on June 29 after a two-day visit in Lucknow.

Railway Sees 87% Dip In Passenger Revenue, Not Definite Over Normalcy
Railway Board Chairman V K Yadav stated that the Indian Railways has seen an 87% drop in passenger revenue due to the pandemic. He also said, "It is not possible to give a definite date for the resumption of normal train services." Yadav added that while normal trains are suspended, 1,089 special trains are running on 30-40% occupancy. However, he hoped that the deficit in passenger revenue will be bridged by the freight revenue.

Telangana: Medha Servo to Invest Rs 1,000 Crore for Setting Up Rail Coach Factory
With an investment cost of Rs 1,000 crore, manufacturing firm Medha Servo Drives will be setting up a rail coach factory at Kondakal near Hyderabad in Telangana. The foundation stone for the project was laid on August 13 by the Telangana Industries Minister KT Rama Rao. The project, which is lauded as India's largest private-sector rail coach factory, is expected to create 2,200 jobs in the region.
