Infosys Gets September 15 Deadline To Fix Glitches Faced By Taxpayers

After users couldn't access the Infosys portal for two consecutive days, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman gave the deadline of September 15 to fix the glitches. Two meetings regarding the issues faced by taxpayers were held with Salil Parekh, Infosys MD and CEO, on August 23. The Income Tax Department released a statement saying that Parekh stated they “are doing everything to ensure the smooth functioning of the portal.”

Indian IT Firms to Retrench 3 Million Employees By 2022: Report

As per sources, with automation coming at a faster pace across industries like tech space and domestic software firms, around 3 million people are likely to lose their jobs by 2022. This slash of headcount is expected to save companies an enormous amount of USD 100 billion, which they pay off as salaries annually. TCS, Infosys, Wipro and Tech Mahindra are some of the companies which are likely to retrench.

Paytm, MakeMyTrip Seeks Permission To Enable Vaccine Booking Via App: Covid-19

Paytm, Infosys and Make My Trip are some of the companies that are requesting the government to provide approval for vaccine bookings on their platforms. Since only 3.5% of the country's population has been vaccinated as of 12 June, the health officials are insisting on increasing the pace in order to avoid future surges. Notably, companies such as Apollo and Max are also seeking permission to offer vaccine bookings.
