Mizoram University Students Trek 2 Km Uphill To Give Online Exams
Around 23 students in Mizoram trek uphill for nearly two kilometers through forest for internet access to give their even semester undergraduate exams. The lack of internet access due to the terrain in their hometown led them to write exams from makeshift huts made of bamboo, tarpaulin and banana leaves. Complaining of fleeting mobile network and 2G internet, two similar huts were raised in Lunglei and Siaha districts.

25K+ Villages Lack Internet & Mobile Connectivity, Minister Reveals
The Communication Ministry has notified that among 5.97 lakh villages in the country, nearly 25,000 villages still lack cellular or internet connection. Additionally, around 10,000 villages in 11 states affected by the left-wing extremism also lack network connectivity. Highspeed 4G Internet Services Resumed In J&K After 18-Month Ban
The J&K government on February 5 restored the 4G internet services in the Union Territory after 18 months. Lifting the restrictions, the home secretary asked the J&K Police to “closely monitor the impact of lifting restrictions". Govt Extends Internet Ban At 3 Farmers' Protest Sites Till Feb 2
The Centre has extended the internet ban at the farmers protest sites on Singhu, Ghazipur, Tikri borders along with adjoining areas till February 2. Suspended from January 31, the internet services would be resumed only after 11 PM on February 2. The government has cited the ban to maintain public safety and averting public emergency under the Temporary Suspension of Telecom Services (Public Emergency or Public Safety) Rules 2017.
