RSS Leader Indresh Kumar Raises Voice Against Kashmiri Pandits Killing
RSS leader Indresh Kumar took a dig at political parties for keeping silent in the recent killing of Kashmiri Pandits in Jammu and Kashmir. On May 16, Kumar said, "The anger of Kashmiri Pandits is justified. But the bigger anger is about the silence of political parties that chant slogans of secularism". He also appealed people of Kashmir to stand with Pandits against the terrorism, causing trouble to the Kashmiri pandits.

After Rahul Bhat’s Death, 350 Kashmiri Pandit Govt Employees Resigns
In the Kashmir valley, 350 government officials resigned on May 13, and all of them are Kashmiri Pandits. They did so a day after their colleague Rahul Bhat was shot dead by terrorists inside his office. Employees wrote to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha of J&K, stating that they no longer felt secure in Kashmir. On May 12, Lashkar-e-Taiba militants shot Bhat in his Tehsil office in Budgam's Chadoora district.

LeT Terrorist Killed In Encounter In Kulgam District: Jammu & Kashmir
In Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district, a Pakistani Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist and one more were killed in an encounter with security forces on May 8. The gunfight in the Cheyan Devsar area of the south Kashmir district broke out after security forces launched a cordon and search operation based on intelligence input. The deceased militants were a Pakistani named Haider and another is identified as Shahbaz Shah.

Vivek Agnihotri Gets Y Category Security Amid The Kashmir Files Controversy
Director Vivek Agnihotri has been granted Y category security by the Ministry of Home Affairs. The decision came after his recent release "The Kashmir Files" which became controversy, due to its brutal depiction of exodus of Kashmiri Pandits, hurting communities. There has been a threat to his life based on the inputs, said ministry. Notably, Agnihotri;s film has been praised by Indian politicians and PM Modi.

Policeman Shot Dead At Anantnag's Bijbebara: J&K
Unknown gunmen have shot dead a police constable in Hassanpora village of Bijbebara area in Anantnag district of South Kashmir on January 29. Sources said that gunmen suspected to be militants shot at a policeman, identified as Ali Mohammad Ganaie, in Hassanpora village, due to which he received injuries to his head and died on the spot. Reportedly, the area was cordoned off soon after the attack took place.

Regions Of Kashmir Valley Receive Fresh Snowfall, Temperature Falls
Gulmarg & Pahalgam in Kashmir received fresh snowfall, while the minimum temperature dropped slightly in most of its parts. In Srinagar, the minimum temperature settled at a low of 2.2°C, while Gulmarg recorded a low of minus 2.2°C. The officials in Meteorological Department have said that weather will remain cloudy in the Jammu & Kashmir, with possibility of rain or snow during January 22-23.

Encounter Underway In Jammu & Kashmir's Kulgam Region
An encounter broke out between militants and security forces in Hasanpora area of Kashmir's Kulgam on January 9. As per police spokesman, "Encounter has started at Hasanpora area of Kulgam. Police and security forces cordoned off the area and started search operation. Further details are awaited, as how many militants are trapped in the area and other details of the militants are yet to be known.
