Students of Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge and Technologies (RGUKT) Telangana continued their protest, staging a sit-in at the IIT gate. Popularly known as IIT Basara students, they raised voice against poor quality food and demanding good food, water and basic amenities to students. They submitted 12 requests, including a permanent Vice-Chancellor at the IIT and tagged CM KCR and IT Minister KTR, asking to look into the matter.

Taking a dig at the BJP-led Central Government over pending projects and unfulfilled promises to Telangana, TRS Minister KT Rama Rao wrote an open letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. On May 13, KTR questioned discrimination against Telangana, and favoritism to Gujarat, the hometown of Shah and PM Modi.
