An encounter broke out between militants and security forces in Hasanpora area of Kashmir's Kulgam on January 9. As per police spokesman, "Encounter has started at Hasanpora area of Kulgam. Police and security forces cordoned off the area and started search operation. Further details are awaited, as how many militants are trapped in the area and other details of the militants are yet to be known. 

Security forces killed two Lashkar-e-Taiba militants in an encounter, in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district.
