Wear Face Masks, Says Maharashtra Govt Amid Covid-19 Case Rise
Amid the rising number of Covid-19, Maharashtra Government, on June 7, urged people to follow Covid-19 protocols and wear masks in public places. Notably, in 24 hours, the State registered 1,881 fresh, taking the number of active cases to 8,432. Furthermore, 878 patients were discharged in the day, taking the recovery rate in the state to 98.03%. The case fatality rate in the state is 1.87%, confirmed the health ministry.

Maharashtra Government To Give 10 Sanitary Napkins To Rural Women At Rs 1 Per Month
Maharashtra government launched an initiative on World Menstrual Hygiene Day, May 28, in which women living below poverty line and members of Mahila Bachat Gat (Self-help groups) may purchase 10 sanitary napkins for just Rs 1. It will go into effect on August 15, 2022. The scheme is intended to assist women in rural regions who suffer from poor menstrual hygiene owing to a lack of awareness and accessibility.

Maharashtra Govt Proposes Houses To Mill Workers Under PMAY
Aiming for development for poor, the Maharashtra State Housing Department led by Jitendra Awhad held a meeting with the Mill Workers Union representatives. During the meeting, the housing department proposed to allot 75,000 Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY) houses in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). Notably, the houses under the PMAY will be given to those who do not have houses in the country and would apply under the scheme.
