A 38-year-old man was shot dead in Alipur area of North Delhi on January 28, said police. They identified the deceased as Pramod Kumar of Hiranki village, and said that he was involved in an attempt to murder case. As per sources, the spot where Kumar was shot dead, is being inspected by a crime investigation team. Furthermore, police have registered a case under relevant sections.

A man was convicted under the Protection Of Children From Sexual Offences Act by the Orissa High Court for sexually assaulting a teenage girl. The one-judge bench stated, "The vulture-like appellant committed the ghastliest crime known under the sky on her in presence of her sister". He was sentenced under Section 341 (wrongful restraint) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 4 (penetrative sexual assault) of POCSO Act.
