Manipur Violence Intensifies With Other Regions Fighting Over It

Manipur violence intensifying and reaching to other regions of India. After the state burnt down, the flames are reaching Delhi, as Delhi University students got into a clash. A group of Kuki students residing in Delhi University North Campus area alleging that they were attacked by a group of Meiteis. They further said, they tried to register a case with the police, but they refused to file an FIR.

Manipur Govt Issues Shoot At Site Orders For Extreme Cases

To avoid any further incidents of violence in Manipur, the BJP ruled Government issued "shoot at site' orders in extreme cases.  After the night curfews and suspended internet, shoot at site orders are another crucial step taken as a precautionary measure in the violent burning Manipur. The notification signed by the Commissioner (Home) of the state government was issued under provisions of the criminal procedure code 1973.

Manipur Violence Continues, Internet Suspended For Next 5 Days

Amid the ongoing violence and protests in Manipur, the ruling government and police suspended internet services for the next five days. In addition, approximately 40,000 police personnel were deployed in the northeastern state, to control the situation, which is said to be out of hand for the ruling BJP. The violence started with a protest of tribals of Manipur against the non-tribals, demanding Meiteis, demanding ST status.
