SC Issues Notice On MediaOne Channel’s Plea Challenging Centre’s Telecast Ban
The Supreme Court issued a notice in the special leave petition filed by the Malayalam news channel 'MediaOne', owned by Jamaat-e-Islami. Besides, SC challenged the Kerala High Court’s order upholding the recent ban imposed on it by the Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry (UIBM). Notably, The Union Ministry had suspended Media One’s telecast and refused to give clearance to the channel, citing 'security reasons' in January.
