UP Police Shoots Gang Rape Accused; Forced Victim To Consume Poison

Uttar Pradesh's Meerut Police on April 3 shot a gangrape accused while he tried to escape police custody after snatching pistol. Reportedly, two among the four accused who were arrested attempted escape while the police was on the way to court. However, the police apprehended both and rushed the injured accused Lakhan to hospital. Notably, the rape victim died as she was forced to consume poison after being raped.read-more

Taking an innovative step, a man has converted his 30 bighas of farmland into a rural getaway in Uttar Pradesh. Hastinapur-based Ajay Malik had decided to make a weekend rural getaway to give the feel of rural touch for the tourists. With a boat in an artificial pond and rural houses, the getaway resembles life in villages at a very minimal charge of Rs 50 per tourist.

UP: Baby Girl Stuffed In Sack And Abandoned On Road, Survives

In a dreadful incident, a baby girl was found abandoned on the roadside in Uttar Pradesh' Meerut district after being stuffed in three gunny bags. However, the baby was rescued when the passers by heard her crying. The rescuers called the police and the infant was rushed to a hospital, where she is recovering. A video of the incident has also went viral where people can be seen taking out the baby from the sacks.

Uttar Pradesh: Family Wakes To Find 2 Bags Full Of Notes & Jewelry On House Roof

A family in Meerut was surprised when they discovered bags of cash and jewellery on their roof. One of the members, Varun Sharma immediately informed the police. Cops found that the cash belonged to Varun's neighbour Pawan Singhal, which was robbed by his ex-domestic helper. Allegedly, the worker Raju Nepali looted his belongings and absconded after sharing a few with the security guard. The guard is under custody for further probe.

UP: Two Persons Arrested After Police Raids Illegal Weapon Making Unit

An illegal arms manufacturing unit was raided by Uttar Pradesh police on September 14 in Meerut. "Two persons have been arrested who were involved in manufacturing of weapons," said SSP Meerut Ajay Sahni. He told that one accused, identified as Sameer, is wanted by special cell of Delhi Police. He further informed that more than 70 weapons have been recovered from the accused.read-more

Rs 50 Crore Worth Illegally Printed NCERT Books Seized; Joint Team Raids Facility

Over 1.5 lakh illegally printed NCERT books worth Rs 50 crore were seized in Meerut on August 21. The illegally printed NCERT books were sold in the black market causing a big loss to NCERT. The raid was put through by a team of Military Intelligence (MI), UP Special Task Force (STF) and the local police. The police have arrested 22 workers, including the supervisor. Sachin Gupta the owner, fled before the police's arrival.
