Indian Army Team Lands In Nagaland To Probe Killing Of 13 Civilians
A team from the Indian Army landed in Nagaland, on December 28, to investigate the recent killings of 13 civilians in Mon district. Meanwhile, the state authorities made all the necessary arrangements for a smooth probe without any untoward incident. In addition, the Indian Army team, which is probing the matter unarmed, released a WhatsApp number for any clues, video or photos of the incident.

Families Of Nagaland Firing Victims Refuse Ex-gratia, Demands Repeal AFSPA
Families of victims who lost lives in the Nagaland Firing incident in Mon district refused to take compensation. The Oting Village Council, on December 12, issued a statement asking to repeal the Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA) and action against 21st Para Commandos, who shot 14 civilians by mistake on December 4. The Nagaland government announced a compensation of over Rs 18 lakhs to the families.

Security Forces Open Fire At 'Civilians' In Nagaland; 6 Dead, 2 Injured
In a tragic incident, at least six civilians died and two suffered injuries after security forces allegedly opened fire on them suspecting them to be NSCN militants in Nagaland's Oting village of Mon district, on December 5. CM Neiphiu Rio sent his condolences to the bereaved families and wished speedy recoveries to the injured ones. ''High-level SIT will investigate and justice delivered as per the law,'' added CM Rio.
