Tokyo Olympics Gold Medalist Neeraj Chopra will receive "Param Vishisht Seva Medal" on Republic Day, January 26. Posted in the four Rajputana Rifles of the Indian Army, athlete Neeraj Chopra is the first Indian to win 2021 Tokyo Olympics in the Javelin Throw event. Notably, President Ram Nath Kovind will be giving the award. Also, Neeraj Chopra was awarded the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award in November 2021.

Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra is scheduled to visit Sanskardham School in Ahmedabad on December 4. During the visit, Chopra will spread awareness about a balanced diet, sports, and fitness under PM Narendra Modi's new mission. As per the mission, Neeraj Chopra will visit 75 schools by 2023 Independence Day. The ulterior objective of the mission is to create awareness about a healthy lifestyle.

Neeraj Chopra's interaction with a little girl has gone viral on Twitter. The video shows the 23-year-old almost kneeling in front of the little girl while speaking to her. "Mera favorite to aap hi ho" (You are my favorite), the girl said. Neeraj grins and tenderly pats the girl's cheek in response. IPS officer Pankaj Nain posted the video on Twitter.

While explaining his hurried first throw, Olympic gold-medallist, Neeraj Chopra, said that he asked Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem to pass the javelin he was searching for as Nadeem was standing around it. Many misunderstood his comments and assumed Nadeem was tampering with Chopra's javelin. "I would request everyone to please not use me and my comments as a medium to further your vested interests and propaganda", the 23-year-old stated.

Neeraj Chopra becomes the first Indian athlete to bag gold at Tokyo Olympics in men’s javelin throw on August 7. His second throw of 87.58 metre in the finals ended India’s 100 years wait to overcome the track and field medal at Olympics. PM Narendra Modi took to Twitter saying, “History has been scripted at Tokyo! What @Neeraj_chopra1 has achieved today will be remembered forever".
